Melissa McIntosh
Shadow Minister for Communications & for Western Sydney
Biography
Background and political history
Penrith-born Melissa McIntosh captured the ultra-marginal seat of Lindsay from Labor in 2019 and grew her margin in 2022. A former executive at Wentworth Point Community Housing and the Property Council, she rose quickly in opposition ranks and now shadows communications policy-championing 5G spectrum reform, a national emergency-alert system and Western Sydney start-up hubs. McIntosh also co-chairs the Parliamentary Friends of Apprenticeships and advocates for women in construction.
