Biography
Background and political history
Dr Andrew Charlton is an economist, former Rhodes Scholar and was senior economic adviser to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd during the 2008 GFC response. He co-founded AlphaBeta analytics (now Accenture Strategy), advising governments on productivity and climate finance. Elected in 2022, Charlton serves on the Economics Committee and is leading Labor's agenda on open banking and data trusts.
