Biography
Background and political history
Elected in 2013, Pat Conroy oversees the AUKUS supply-chain build-up and Australia's Pacific Step-up. He authored the Defence Industry Development Strategy (2024) and secured bipartisan support for the $15 bn National Reconstruction Fund. Conroy previously worked as an economist at the Dept. of Finance and as a policy adviser to then-Defence Minister Stephen Smith.
